(Spencer)– The Clay County Fair is now less than two weeks away and there’s more and more activity at the grounds as vendors arrive to start setting up. To help keep that process orderly and safe, Jason Brockshus, Fair General Manager, is asking curiosity seekers to stay off the grounds until the gates open to the public September 6th…
“As much as we value and appreciate your excitement that the fair is coming, would you please, please, please wait to come out and have that first fair experience until the gates open on that first day. We have lots of semis, forklifts running around the grounds as vendors come on the grounds. We have superintendents setting up buildings and competitions and pre-judging happen. If you’re part of that crowd, we’re just asking to please park in the designated areas where you would normally park when the gates open for fair. Maybe you’ll have to walk a little bit, a little ways, to your spot on the fairgrounds, but there’s just a lot of traffic, we want to keep people safe.”
Brockshus says they appreciate everyone’s cooperation when it comes to that.
