(Spirit Lake)– Area farmers are being reminded of another important deadline that’s rapidly approaching.
Larry Lago of the Dickinson County Farm Services Agency says the deadline for producers to submit their annual acreage report is Thursday, June 30th. Lago says the reports are needed to meet FSA program eligibility requirements.
In addition, he says prevented and failed acreage, forage crops and crops that are grazed must also be reported. Prevented acreage must be reported within 15 calendar days after the final planting date. Failed acreage must be reported before the disposition of the crop.
NAP crops that are harvested prior to June 30th must report by the earlier of June 30th or 15 calendar days before the onset of harvest or grazing.
Any producer unsure of their reporting deadlines should contact their local county FSA office.
Late-filed provisions may be available to producers who are unable to meet the reporting deadline. Reports filed after the deadline must meet certain requirements to be accepted, and will be charged late fees. A minimum fee of $46 per farm is assessed for late filed certifications.
