(Spencer)– A crisis stabilization center is now open at the Seasons Center For Behavioral Health in Spencer. Karen Rosengreen, Vice President of Medical Services, says the new center opened Tuesday…
“We’ve been working on it for the last two years. It will be a four-bed crisis stabilization residential center for the northwest corner of the state located at our Spencer main office next door to the hospital, and we have four beds up to a three to five day stay for any individual 18 and over experiencing a mental health crisis. This would be something that would not require an inpatient level of care, something like short-term stabilization, working on some skill building and therapy to get back on your feet.”
The facility has been named “Alex’s Place”, in honor and memory of Alex Jacobsen who died of suicide in December of 2020.
Individuals are referred to the center through the Seasons Center Crisis Line at 844-345-4569. The line is staffed 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
