May 15, 2024 Steve Schwaller

(Okoboji)– Here’s another sign of the approach of summer in the Iowa Great Lakes. Crews Tuesday unloaded the semi trailer at Okoboji Summer Theatre in preparation for the upcoming season of productions. OST General Manager Ruth Ann Burke says they’re excited to get things back up and running…

“We’ve got a great season lined up, seven shows; four musicals and three comedies and so we’re just looking forward to getting everybody up here from Columbia and the professional guest artists that will be coming from everywhere and just putting those teams together. We’re excited to get started. We have a lot of fun things planned. Boji Bantam’s going to be opening up in July with musical theatre intensive and also the Emperor’s New Clothes, and so all those folks will be filtering in here in early June to help us open up, unpack, clean and sort and then the creative folks will come in to get ready for the rehearsals. The first show is June 25th.”

Ticket information is available by emailing boxoffice@okobojisummertheatre.org or eventbrite.com. The OST box office opens June 17th.

Burke expressed her thanks to local students and other volunteers who helped unload the truck Tuesday.

This will be the 66th season at Okoboji Summer Theatre.
