(Milford)– The Dickinson County Sheriff’s Office has released details into a single vehicle crash February 24th that injured two people.
Authorities say it happened around 9:20 p.m. in the 1500 block of 220th Street, or County Road A-34, west of Milford. Deputies say 45-year-old James Cox of Lake Park was driving a 2004 Chrysler westbound when the vehicle left the road and struck a group of trees.
Cox was transported to Lakes Regional Healthcare in Spirit Lake with incapacitating injuries.
A passenger, three-year-old Chase Westlake, was also transported by ambulance to LRH with non-incapacitating injuries.
Cox and the child both had to be freed from the vehicle by mechanical means.
Damage to the vehicle was estimated at $9,000.
Authorities say the crash is still under investigation.
The Dickinson County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by Milford Fire and Rescue, the Milford Police Department, Lakes Regional Healthcare ambulance and Bob’s Auto Body of Milford.
