(Lake Park)– A two-vehicle crash this (Thursday) morning southwest of Lake Park injured two people.
The Dickinson County Sheriff’s Office says 68-year-old Ralph Lundquist of Lake Park was driving a 1979 Ford truck southbound on 110th Avenue and 19-year-old Chelsey Heikes of Sibley was driving a 1999 Buick eastbound on 170th Street when the two collided.
Authorities say Lundquist collided with the driver’s side of the vehicle driven by Heikes.
Lundquist sustained minor cuts to his hands and complained of soreness.
Heikes received serious injuries and needed to be extricated from her vehicle by the Lake Park Fire Department. She was then taken by ambulance to Lakes Regional Healthcare in Spirit Lake. Her condition wasn’t immediately available.
Deputies say the collision, which took place shortly after 8:00 a.m., remains under investigation.
The Dickinson County Sheriff’s Office was assisted on the scene by the Lake Park Fire Department, Lake Park ambulance, Lakes Regional Healthcare ambulance and Dickinson County Emergency Management.
Both vehicles sustained extensive damage.
