(Spencer)– Charges have been filed against the driver of a vehicle in a crash east of Spencer earlier this week that seriously injured a child.
The Clay County Sheriff’s Office says 20-year-old Calvin Pomeroy of Ruthven was driving a 1993 Dodge pickup eastbound on 340th Street and 35-year-old Jason Greiner of Dickens was driving a 2000 Plymouth Grand Voyager northbound. Authorities say Pomeroy went through a stop sign and that the two vehicles collided in the intersection.
Pomeroy was arrested and charged with driving with a suspended license and for failure to obey a stop sign.
A passenger in Greiner’s vehicle, 30-year-old Jennifer Mills of Dickens, sustained minor injuries. Another passenger in Greiner’s vehicle, a 10-year-old girl, was life-flighted to a Sioux Falls hospital with incapacitating injuries.
$6,000 in damage was estimated to the vehicle driven by Greiner with $4,000 in damage to the pickup Pomeroy was driving.
The collision took place around 5:15 p.m. Tuesday.
