(Hull)– A Rock Rapids man faces charges in connection with a crash Saturday in Sioux county that sent him to the hospital with minor injuries.
The Sioux County Sheriff’s Office says 23-year-old Jason Boll of Rock Rapids was driving a 1996 Chevrolet Blazer westbound on a county road a half mile northeast of Hull when he lost control. The vehicle went into the ditch and rolled.
Upon further investigation, deputies determined the crash actually took place shortly after 4:30 a.m., but wasn’t reported until a couple of hours later.
Deputies also learned that Boll had been transported by private vehicle to Sanford Hospital in Rock Rapids where he was treated and released.
Boll was arrested and charged with operating while intoxicated-drugged and failure to report a personal injury accident…both serious misdemeanors. Boll was also cited for failure to maintain control and no proof of insurance.
The Sioux County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Sioux County Drug Recognition Expert Deputy and the Lyon County Sheriff’s Office.
Authorities say the incident is still under investigation.
