(Wahpeton)– Two people were injured in a two-vehicle collision late this (Fri.) morning at the intersection of Highway 86 and 150th Street near Wahpeton.
The Dickinson County Sheriff’s Office says 53-year-old Bruce Burmeister of Lakefield, Mn. was driving a 1996 GMC pickup southbound on Highway 86 and 66-year-old Rita Tesch of Wahpeton was driving a 2007 Chevrolet Impala westbound on 190th Street. Deputies say Tesch failed to yield after stopping at a stop sign and pulled into the path of the vehicle driven by Burmeister. The two collided in the intersection.
Burmeister sustained minor injuries. He was treated on the scene and released. Tesch was transported by ambulance to Lakes Regional Healthcare in Spirit Lake with incapacitating injuries.
Damage to both vehicles was estimated at $5,000 each.
Tesch was cited for failure to yield from a stop sign.
The collision took place around 11:30 a.m.
The Dickinson County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Milford and Arnolds Park Police Departments; Milford Fire Department; Milford Rescue and the Lakes Regional Healthcare ambulance and paramedics.
