(Terril)—Two people were injured early Wednesday when a vehicle collided with a utility pole on Dickinson County Road N-14 north of Terril.
The Dickinson County Sheriff’s Office says 31-year-old Nathan Ehrig of Emmetsburg was driving a 2002 GMC Envoy southbound when he swerved to miss some deer, causing him to lose control. The vehicle went off the road and collided with a utility pole, shearing it off at the bottom.
Ehrig and a passenger, 41-year-old Paul Reese of Emmetsburg, were taken by ambulance to Lakes Regional Healthcare where they were treated for non-incapacitating injuries.
$7,000 in damage was estimated to the vehicle; damage to the pole owned by Cornbelt Power Company was estimated at $5,000.
The crash took place shortly before 3:00 a.m.
The Dickinson County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Milford and Arnolds Park Police Departments, Terril Rescue, the Lakes Regional Healthcare ambulance and EMT’s and Bob’s Auto Body of Milford.
