(Ruthven)– A single vehicle crash this (Thurs.) morning near Ruthven injured a Spirit Lake man.
The Clay County Sheriff’s Office says Michael Riesberg of Spirit Lake lost control of a 1999 Toyota 4Runner while traveling southbound on County Road N-14. The vehicle struck an embankment and went into the river, coming to rest on another embankment.
Deputies say Riesberg managed to get out of the vehicle and walked to a farm house, and called 911. He was then taken to Spencer Hospital.
Authorities were called to the location around 5:00 am.
The Ruthven Fire Department and two towing companies assisted on the scene.
