Crash At North “Y” In Spencer Injures Two

November 22, 2014

(Spencer)– A two-vehicle collision shortly after 3:00 p.m. Friday at the north “Y” in Spencer sent two people to the hospital.

The Clay County Sheriff’s Office says Roman Macias of Worthington was northbound on Highway 71 and Susan Norgaard of Carroll was eastbound on Highway 18 when Norgaard pulled into the path of the vehicle driven by Macias.

Clara Alvarez, a passenger in the vehicle driven by Macias, along with Susan Norgaard, were taken by ambulance to Spencer Hospital where they were treated and released.

Norgaard was cited for failure to yield from a stop sign; Macias was cited for no driver’s license and no insurance.

Seven thousand dollars in damage was estimated to a 1997 Chevrolet Tahoe driven by Macias; a 2007 Chevrolet Suburban driven by Norgaard sustained an estimated 10-thousand dollars in damage.
