County Officials To Gather In Spirit Lake For Informational Meeting On Revamp Of Mental Health Services

November 22, 2014

(Spirit Lake)– Board of supervisors from Clay, Dickinson, Emmet, Lyon, O’Brien, Osceola and Palo Alto counties will gather this Wednesday at the Dickinson county courthouse in Spirit Lake for a regional planning session addressing the re-design of the state’s mental healthcare system.

The state is transitioning to a regional system, compared to the past when each individual county was responsible for administering programs.

Supervisors from each of the seven counties in the region will hear from Linda Hinton, Government Relations Manager for the Iowa State Association of Counties. Hinton will provide technical assistance to the seven counties’ boards of supervisors, auditors and CPCs on questions regarding governance, funding and operations of the local region.

Wednesday’s (1/9) meeting is scheduled for 9:00 a.m. at the Dickinson county courthouse.
