(Spencer)– Area food entrepreneurs are being urged to attend an event later this month in Spencer.
The Iowa Lakes Corridor Development Corporation will be putting on a program titled “From Recipe to Reality” at the Clay County Regional Events Center. Corridor President and CEO Kathy Evert says the program is offered every two years and features experts from the University of Nebraska…(click here for comment.) “There are different regulations that affect different food products and they’re always changing and they’re being more regulated for food safety reasons than in the past. So this is a one-day seminar, it will be at the Spencer Clay County Regional Events Center on Saturday, February 16th. It’s a full day. Again, the cost is $200 and you can register on our website. The Food Processing Center folks at the University of Nebraska are the best. They’ll walk you through everything to think about. How to take a recipe for yourself and take it a mass production kind of thing and what things to consider, how to get it on grocery store shelves if you want to go that route. They are the experts and they’ve seen and done it all and will be a tremendous resource for people in this area that want to go that route.”
Again, more information and pre-registration is available by contacting the Corridor office or by visiting their website, www.lakescorridor.com.
