(Spencer)– A representative of the Iowa Lakes Corridor Development Corporation is accompanying the Iowa Economic Development Authority on a trip this week to Texas.
Shaun Arneson of the Corridor is traveling with the group, which will be meeting with several Texas companies that have a presence in Iowa. Officials say the goal of the trip is to introduce Iowa’s many location advantages to companies that may or may not have immediate expansion plans and to establish long-term relationships with targeted businesses. They’ll be meeting with four to five companies a day beginning today (Monday 10/31) and continuing through Friday (11/4).
The Iowa Economic Development Authority goes on 8 to 10 Sell Iowa trips each year.
In late August, the Iowa Lakes Corridor took an internal Sell Trip to Minneapolis. Corridor President and CEO Kathy Evert and Arneson visited headquarters of companies that have a corridor presence. They include Polaris Industries, Horizon Wind Energy, Eaton Manufacturing, a prospect and a national commercial real estate firm.
Previous Sell Iowa trips Arneson has participated in include Chicago, Cleveland and Detroit. Ever’s Sell Iowa trips include Minnesota and Dallas/Ft. Worth. In 2010 she took an internal trip to North and South Carolina to visit Klaussner and Pure Fishing headquarters, consultants, and prospective companies.
