(Milford)– Officials with the Iowa Lakes Corridor Development Corporation say they’re disappointed over the announcement that Klaussner Home Furnishings will be shutting down its Stylecraft operations in Milford in August.
Corridor President and CEO Kathy Evert tells KUOO news their thoughts are with the affected employees and their families. Evert says they’re working closely with Iowa Lakes Community College and Iowa Workforce Development to assist employees with re-training opportunities. She says they’re also encouraging existing companies looking at expanding their operations to consider hiring the Stylecraft workers, adding they are tremendously qualified and dedicated.
Evert added the Corridor hopes to play a role with the company and the city of Milford when it comes to the future disposition of the Stylecraft buildings.
