Corridor Announces New Board Members

(Estherville)– The Iowa Lakes Corridor Development Corporation announced a new slate of members to its board of directors at the organization’s annual meeting Monday evening in Estherville.

New officers include Bill Bumgarner, Chairman; Dick Drahota, Vice Chairman; Brad Simington, Treasurer; and Curt Johnson, Immediate Past Chair. All will serve three-year terms and were elected by the membership through a nominating committee.

Highlights of the past year for the Corridor include the generation of 36 projects/prospects; four new businesses were started; 285 new primary jobs were created; 197 students were involved in entrepreneurial training and 16 million dollars was received in federal and state funding for projects.

The Chairman’s Award was presented to Estherville Lincoln Central teacher Jenny Nitchals for her leadership role in the Corridor’s youth entrepreneurship programming efforts.
