“I love touring and so a couple of years ago when the guys were like let’s stay home and eat pizza I was like I want to build something, start something new, and I always liked big band music. So I did both groups at the same time and in the last year have been building big band and then we’ll do both of them again in 2025.”
Johnson says the big band group is starting to see the fruits of their labor…
“We have had so many different things that have happened to us in the last year. When we started this Christmas tour, a couple of years ago now for the big band, you know it was just starting over and saying okay, who can we get to this particular venue and now I can name a few of the shows on this tour in Omaha or in the Twin Cities where it’s now building and selling out. And that’s just what you’re trying to do. You don’t do that the first year because everyone’s like who is this? So I love that challenge and I love those adventures.”
