That being said, Brewer tells KUOO news they do face on ongoing financial challenge in operating the center. She says of the five cent Iowa refund, the center only gets a penny. The Echo-Plus can redemption center in Spirit Lake is open to the public Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and Saturdays from 8:00 a.m. until 12 Noon. The center is open to businesses and bars Tuesdays from 8:00 a.m. until 12 Noon.
