(Okoboji)– The Okoboji City Council again heard concern at this (Fri.) morning’s special meeting from property owners near the Sherwood Forest Park project. They also addressed the council at a special meeting earlier in the week on the matter. They indicated that there was more silt coming off the site following heavy rain overnight, and that a lot of it was going into West Lake Okoboji.
City Administrator Michael Meyers says a meeting was held with project representatives earlier in the week. He says they agreed to draw up some revised plans for the park that would include a detention pond to help slow down run-off from the site. The council directed the City Attorney to draft a letter to the Dickinson County Conservation Board, which is overseeing the project, demanding immediate action be taken to correct the problem.
