(Spencer)– The construction of some new tennis courts in Spencer could be getting underway soon.
The City Council earlier this week awarded a bid for the joint project with the Spencer Community School District. The new courts will constructed near the middle school, on East 15th Street. The council awarded the project to PCC Sports out of Missouri, which submitted the low bid of a little more than $529,000. It was one of three companies to submit a bid.

He says work on the project could start as soon as May or June. The new tennis courts will replace the existing ones at Fairview Park.
