(Spencer)– Comedian Bill Engvall will perform in front of the grandstand at this year’s Clay County Fair.
Engvall will take the stage at 7:00 p.m. the first Saturday of the fair, September 12th.

Engvall first hit the entertainment scene making several appearances on the The Tonight Show and The Late Show With David Letterman. In 1992 he was awarded Best Male Stand-Up Comedian at the American Comedy Awards.
In 1996 Engvall signed with Warner Bros. and released a debute album titled Here’s Your Sign. It reached number one on the Billboard Comedy chart and remained there 15 weeks straight.
Engvall then teamed up with country singer Travis Tritt to release the single “Here’s Your Sign” which hit number one on the Billboard’s Country Singles Sales chart and stayed there for 10 weeks, receiving gold certification.
Engvall’s second CD, Dorkfish, was released in 1998 and also achieved Gold certification.
In 2000 Engvall appeared with Jeff Foxworthy, Ron White and Larry the Cable Guy in the “Blue Collar Comedy Tour”. It culminated with the release of the movie “Blue Collar Comedy Tour The Movie. A sequel, Blue Collar Comedy Tour Rides Again, was released in 2005.
Most recently Engvall has starred in his sitcom The Bill Engvall Show.
