(Sibley)– Two people were taken to the hospital following a collision Monday at the intersection of Highway 60 and 260th Street south of Sibley.
The Osceola County Sheriff’s Office says a 16-year-old male was driving a 2018 Chevrolet Silverado westbound on 260th Street and 24-year-old Yolanda Maria Lopez Chavez of Worthington was driving a 2015 Dodge southbound on Highway 60. Deputies say as the Silverado crossed the northbound lane of the highway, it slowed down at a stop sign but failed to yield to the vehicle driven by Lopez Chavez, resulting in a collision.
Lopez Chavez and a passenger in her vehicle were taken by ambulance to the Osceola Regional Health Center. No injuries were reported to the driver of the other vehicle, who was cited for failure to yield. Lopez Chavez was cited for not having a valid driver’s license.
