Collision On Hwy 18 In Clay County Results In Minor Injuries

January 09, 2024 Steve Schwaller

(Ruthven)– Officials say slick roads were a contributing factor in a two vehicle collision Monday evening on Highway 18 east of Dickens that resulted in minor injuries.

The Clay County Sheriff’s Office says 39-year-old John Marcum was driving a 2003 Ford pickup eastbound and 23-year-old Ally Montgomery of Arnolds Park was driving a 2011 Toyota Camry westbound when the two slid into each other.

Minor injuries were reported to Montgomery.

Damage to each vehicle was estimated at $8,000.

The collision took place around 10:20 pm.

The Dickens and Ruthven First Responders, Spencer Ambulance and Palo Alto County Sheriff’s Office assisted on the scene.
