(Milford)—A man was seriously injured in a collision involving two trucks yesterday (Mon.) in Milford.
Milford police say 57-year-old John Dana of Milford was driving a 1994 Dodge Dakota northbound on Highway 71 and was attempting to make a left hand turn onto 10th Street when he turned into the path of a 2009 Chevrolet pickup pulling a trailer loaded with construction material owned by GM Contracting of Lake Crystal, Minnesota and being driven by 35-year-old Nathaniel Heins of Amboy, Minnesota. Police say the two vehicles came to rest against the MHR Insurance building and a traffic light control box.
Dana was taken by ambulance to Lakes Regional Healthcare and was transferred to a Sioux Falls hospital. There was no immediate word on the extent of his injuries or condition. No injuries were reported to Heins.
$10,000 in damage was estimated to the pickup Heins was driving; the one driven by Dana was totaled. Damage to the building and traffic control box was put at about $3,000.
The Milford Police Department was assisted by Milford Fire and Rescue, the Lakes Regional Healthcare ambulance and paramedics and the Arnolds Park Police Department.
The crash took place around 8:00 a.m.
