(Edna)– A collision Wednesday in Lyon county involving a tank truck and a farm tractor claimed the life of a Rock Rapids man.
The Iowa State Patrol says 82-year-old Dennis Hayenga of Little Rock was driving a 2007 International tank truck and 77-year-old Myron Krull of Rock Rapids was driving a 1963 Farmall tractor. Troopers say both were westbound on 180th Street in Edna. They say Hayenga was attempting to pass when the truck collided with corner of the sprayer unit being pulled by the tractor. The sprayer unit became detached and the tractor rolled into the ditch.
The driver of the tractor, Myron Krull, was pronounced dead a short time later.
The Lyon County Sheriff’s Office and the George Fire Department assisted on the scene.
