Collision Of S-U-V & Semi Kills One, Injures Several Others

(Peterson)– One person was killed and several others injured Monday in a collision of a semi and S-U-V south of Peterson. The Iowa State Patrol says 37-year-old Nicholas Seaburg of Pope Joy, Iowa was driving a 2020 Subaru Outback northbound on County Road M-27 and was turning into a parking lot when he collided with a 2006 International semi driven by 69-year-old Marlon Klein of Sheldon.

A front seat passenger in the Subaru, 42-year-old Coree Keller of Pope Joy, was ejected and died at the scene. Seaburg and three passengers ages 5, 7, and 11, were injured. Two of the children were airlifted to other hospitals. Klein wasn’t injured.

The collision took place shortly before 10:00 am. The Buena Vista County Sheriff’s Office assisted on the scene along with a towing service.
