(Sheldon)– Two people were injured this past Sunday in a collision on Northwest Boulevard near Sheldon.
The O’Brien County Sheriff’s Office says 21-year-old Celia Chilel Chavez of Bellevue, Nebraska, was driving a 2007 Nissan and was attempting to make a turn after discovering she was driving in the wrong direction on the road. Authorities say she then collided with a 2014 Honda Pilot driven by 52-year-old Jodi Vogel of Sioux Center. An accident report says the vehicle driven by Vogel rolled about six times, coming to rest on its roof.
Both drivers were taken by ambulance to the Sheldon hospital with minor injuries.
Chilele Chavez was cited for not having a valid driver’s license, failure to yield and careless driving.
