Collision Near Dickens Seriously Injures One Person

July 05, 2022 Steve Schwaller

(Dickens)– Two people were injured Sunday in a two-vehicle collision at the intersection of Clay County Road N-14 and Highway 18 east of Dickens.

The Iowa State Patrol says 31-year-old Sarah Murphy of Springfield, Illinois was driving a 2018 Toyota southbound on County Road N-14 and had stopped at the intersection with Highway 18. Troopers say Murphy then pulled into the path of a westbound 2010 Honda Motorcycle driven by 39-year-old Heather Dillingham of Everly.

Authorities say Dillingham wasn’t wearing a helmet. She was taken by ambulance to Spencer Hospital and was transferred by air to another medical facility. Murphy was treated on the scene for minor injuries.

The collision took place around 1:30 pm.
