Collision Injures Sibley Man

(Worthington, Mn.)– A Sibley man sustained minor injuries when a vehicle he was driving was involved in a collision with a semi late last Friday afternoon on Highway 60 just north of Bigelow in Nobles county.

The Minnesota State Patrol says 22-year-old Javier Flores of Sibley was driving a 2004 Mitsubishi Outlander northbound when he swerved to avoid a slower-moving 2008 Peterbuilt semi driven by 27-year-old Michael Laumb of Caledonia, Minnesota.

Flores was taken to Sanford Hospital in Worthington where he was treated for a minor injury and released. No injuries were reported to Laumb.

Severe damage was reported to the Mitsubishi driven by Flores; minor damage was reported to the semi driven by Laumb.

The collision took place shortly before 4:00 p.m.

The Minnesota State Patrol was assisted by the Nobles County Sheriff’s Office.
