Collision Injures Estherville Man

(Estherville)– The Iowa State Patrol has released details into a two-vehicle collision last Thursday in Estherville that injured an Estherville man.

Authorities say 50-year-old Steven Mason of Estherville backed a 1997 Dodge into a 2009 Ford Crown Victoria squad car after he saw an officer approach his vehicle which had been parked in a parking lot.

Mason was taken by ambulance to Avera Holy Family Hospital in Estherville where he was treated for non-incapacitating injuries.

Mason was cited for failure to yield upon entering a through highway.

1,500-dollars in damage was estimated to the squad car; the vehicle Mason was driving sustained an estimated 300-dollars damage.

The collision took place shortly after 11:00 p.m. at the intersection of Central Avenue and 12th Street in Estherville.
