(Inwood)– A two vehicle collision Thursday in Lyon county claimed the life of a Sioux Center man.
The Iowa State Patrol says 90-year-old Stanley Kroese of Sioux Center was driving a 2024 Chevrolet Blazer northbound on Iowa Highway 182 and was slowing to turn into a driveway. Troopers say 39-year-old Jennifer Simpson of Rock Valley was driving a 2013 Chevrolet Tahoe northbound when she collided with the rear of the vehicle driven by Kroese.
Kroese died in the crash. A passenger in his vehicle, 84-year-old Joan Kroese, was taken by ambulance to Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls. Simpson and two children in her vehicle, ages seven and nine, were all taken by ambulance to Sanford Hospital in Sioux Falls.
The collision took place shortly after 10:30 am. Troopers say it remains under investigation.
