(Estherville)– Two people were sent to the hospital Wednesday evening following a two-vehicle collision at the intersection of 340th Avenue and 150th Street east of Superior.
The Emmet County Sheriff’s Office says 40-year-old Dina Diamanti of Bigelow, Minnesota was driving a 2024 Ford Flex westbound when she crossed the center line and collided with a northbound 1998 Buick Century driven by 19-year-old Jason Bauer of Hanlontown, Iowa. Both vehicles left the road and wound up in the ditch.
Diamanti had to be extricated from her vehicle and was taken by ambulance to Lakes Regional Healthcare in Spirit Lake. Bauer was taken by ambulance to Avera Holy Family Hospital in Estherville. Their injuries were described as non-life threatening.
The collision took place a little before 6:30 pm. Authorities say it remains under investigation.
