Collision At 12th And Grand In Spencer Injures Two

(Spencer)– A two-vehicle collision around noon Monday at the intersection of Grand Avenue and 12th Avenue West in Spencer sent two people to the hospital.

Spencer police say 90-year-old Hilda Paulson of Spencer was eastbound on West 12th Street and had stopped for a stop sign when she entered the intersection and collided with a vehicle driven by 66-year-old Franklin Bailey of Pomeroy who was northbound in the inside lane of Grand Avenue.

Paulson was complaining of chest pain and Bailey reported pain in both wrists. Both drivers were taken to Spencer Hospital for evaluation.

$3,000 in damage was estimated to a Dodge Stratus driven by Paulson and to a 2009 Chevrolet Bailey was driving.

Paulson was cited for failure to yield upon entering a through highway.
