(Estherville)– It’s time for the College Fair at Iowa Lakes. KUOO’s Becky Thoreson has the story…(click here for actuality.) The Iowa Association For College Admission Counseling holds college fairs across the state. And this week, several college fairs are taking place, including a fair at Storm Lake High School on Wednesday and at Algona High on Thursday. Iowa Lakes Community College will also host a fair on Thursday with dozens of college representatives on hand to answer questions for prospective students. ILCC Admissions Counselor Andy Soper…“We’re going to have about 60 colleges attending from two year, four year, Army ROTC, cosmetology schools, all will be in attendance in the gymnasium there in Estherville. And that’s from 9:00 to 10:30 March 7th.”
Soper notes that the deadline for scholarship applications is looming at Iowa Lakes April 1st…”Making sure that we hit that deadline. There’s only a month left until scholarships are due. Everything’s done completely on line. It might take maybe 45 minutes to an hour, but it could save thousands of dollars. Last year they gave out $815,000 in institutional scholarships for our students. Probably the number one thing parents and students are looking for, they want to know what can help them be able to afford college.”
