(Spencer)– There was a close call for a flagger in an accident Friday of last week in a construction zone in Clay county.
Authorities say 32-year-old Timothy Burd of Emmetsburg was driving a 2008 Chevrolet westbound on Highway 18 and was approaching the intersection with 240th Avenue when he abruptly stopped for a construction worker holding a sign. A 2022 Jeep Compass driven by 37-year-old Janeen Rochelle of Emmetsburg then collided with the rear of Burd’s vehicle.
No injuries were reported to either driver. The vehicle driven by Rochelle had to be towed from the scene. The collision took place around 6:45 am.
