Clock Is Ticking If You Want To Vote Absentee In Tuesday’s City/School Elections

October 31, 2025

(Spirit Lake)– Absentee voting for next week’s school and city elections continues at a fairly brisk pace. Jordan Moyer of the Dickinson County Auditor’s Office has a rundown on some of the numbers as of Thursday afternoon…

“You know at the start we had a few requests for mail in ballots. You can request a ballot 70 days before the election. So we had a few that we sent out, I want to say maybe 40 to 50 at the beginning, and we’re currently just a little shy of 250 total absentee voters between in person and by mail.”

Meanwhile the clock is ticking if you want to vote absentee…

“Monday, the day before the election, is the last day you can come in to our office during business hours and then after election day you’ll need to go to your respective polling place in order to vote on election day.”

And for those planning to vote election day itself this coming Tuesday, Moyer has some reminders…

“You just need to make sure that you bring your driver’s license. You are able to attest for somebody if they are not able to provide identification as long as they are in the same precinct. Another big reminder with this election and for the next three elections, actually with the Arnolds Park City Hall being torn down, that polling location will be at the Spirit Lake Expo Building.”

Polls Tuesday will be open from 7:00 am until 8:00 pm. If you’re uncertain as to your polling location, you can find that by going to the Secretary of State’s website.
