Clay County Traffic Stop Turns Up Knife And What’s Alleged To Be Pot

November 22, 2014

(Spencer)– A Ruthven man faces drug charges after a weekend traffic stop turned up what’s alleged to be marijuana seeds and stems, a baggie with a small amount of pot in it and a knife with a 7 and three-quarter inch fixed blade under a floor mat.

18-year-old Kyle Frederick was booked into the Clay county jail on charges of carrying a weapon, possession of a controlled substance and excessive speed.

The Clay County Sheriff’s Office says the items were turned up as the result of a consent search after a deputy pulled over a vehicle Frederick was driving Saturday afternoon on Highway 18 near Ruthven.
