(Spencer)– A traffic stop Friday evening in Clay county landed two men in jail. The Sheriff’s Office says a deputy conducted the stop in the 4700 mile of Highway 71, and that the deputy could smell marijuana coming from the vehicle as he approached. A search of the vehicle turned up marijuana and drug paraphernalia. 18-year-old Jacob Ferguson of Pocahontas and 18-year-old Jose Medel-Martinez of Laurens were both arrested.
Medel-Martinez was charged with possession of a controlled substance…marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. Ferguson was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, speeding, minor in possession of tobacco, driving while revoked, and possession of a controlled substance…marijuana.
Both were booked into the Clay county jail pending initial court appearances.
