Clay County Traffic Stop Results In Multiple Charges Against Two People

(Spencer)– Two people were arrested on multiple charges Friday following a traffic stop in the 3300 mile of 240th Avenue in Clay county.

The Clay County Sheriff’s Office says a deputy noticed a male driver, 44-year-old Jacob Longman of Estherville, switch places with a female passenger, 65-year-old Judy Laue of Graettinger, as he was pulling over the vehicle.

An investigation revealed Longman had a suspended driver’s license. A search warrant was obtained and executed on the vehicle resulting in authorities finding marijuana wax, methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia. Longman was charged with possession of a controlled substance…marijuana…3rd offense; possession of a controlled substance…methamphetamine…3rd offense; driving under suspension; reckless driving, no insurance; no seatbelt; failure to use proper towing equipment and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Laue was charged with possession of a controlled substance…methamphetamine…2nd offense; reckless driving; no seatbelt; no insurance; failure to use proper towing equipment and possession of drug paraphernalia.

The Spencer Police Department assisted on the scene, along with a towing service.
