March 27, 2026

(Spencer)– Multiple drug charges were filed against an Estherville man following a traffic stop Thursday in Clay county.

The Clay County Sheriff’s Office says a deputy pulled over a vehicle for speeding in the 2600 mile of Highway 18 a little after 4:00 pm and could smell marijuana as he approached it. An investigation and subsequent search turned up drug paraphernalia, marijuana, marijuana wax and numerous marijuana vape pens.

22-year-old Cesar Garcia of Estherville was arrested and booked into jail for possession of marijuana with intent to deliver and failure to affix a drug tax stamp…both class “D” felonies; possession of a controlled substance…marijuana…a serious misdemeanor; along with possession of drug paraphernalia, speeding and no insurance…all simple misdemeanors.
