(Fostoria)– A snowmobile crash over the weekend in Clay county injured a man from Prairie City, Iowa.
The Clay County Sheriff’s Office says 29-year-old Justin Vetter of Prairie City was operating an arctic cat snowmobile in the Highway 71 right-of-way near Fostoria around 2:00 p.m. Saturday. Authorities say Vetter was traveling southbound at a high rate of speed when lost control, causing the snowmobile to roll end-over-end.
Vetter, who was thrown from the snowmobile, was taken by ambulance to Spencer Hospital and was then life-flighted to McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls. The extent of his injuries wasn’t immediately known.
1,500-dollars in damage was estimated to the snowmobile.
The Clay County Sheriff’s Office was assisted on the scene by the Spencer Hospital ambulance, Spencer Emergency Response and Fostoria Fire and Rescue.
