Clay County Rollover Results In Pot Charge Against Woman

November 22, 2014

(Spencer)– A single-vehicle crash Saturday in Clay county led to a drug charge being filed against a Dow, Iowa woman.

The Sheriff’s Office says 36-year-old Sara Webber of Dow was driving a Pontiac transport van northbound at the intersection of 310th and 330th Avenue when she dropped a cigarette. Deputies say Webber then lost control of the vehicle as she reached down to pick it up.

The vehicle went into the ditch, flipping onto its top.

Authorities say Webber was injured and fled the scene.

Upon having a towing company upright the vehicle, a baggied containing what’s alleged to be marijuana was found on the front passenger seat.

Later the same morning, a deputy managed to find Webber. She was placed under arrest after admitting to the substance being hers.

Webber was booked into the Clay county jail on charges of possession of a controlled substance…marijuana; and failure to maintain control. She was later released after posting a one thousand dollar cash or surety bond.
