(Spencer)– The Clay County Fair Association held its annual meeting Tuesday evening in Spencer. 46 employees and volunteers were honored for a combined 355 years of service to the fair. Richard Peck, Robert Bendlin and Jerry Crabtree were recognized for each having served 25 years or more. Recognition was also given to retiring board member Dennis Larson.
Nine members were elected to three-year terms on the 27-member board of directors. They include Adam Batchelet, Jeff Bohnenkamp, Marcia Langner, Greg Lear, Ben Pullen, Mark Rees, Karen Schwaller, Joe Simington and Kevin Tlam. The board convened following the annual meeting and elected officers.
The Clay County Fair Association has 820 lifetime members consisting of 766 individual and 54 associate members. Membership is open year-round for a one-time fee of $100.
The association helps shape the future and mission of the Clay County Fair, which includes quality family entertainment, educational opportunities and economic impact for the region.
