Clay County Crash Results In Minor Injuries (1)

November 22, 2014

(Spencer)– An Emmetsburg woman faces charges in connection with a single-vehicle crash over the weekend that resulted in minor injuries and totaled the vehicle she was driving.

The Clay County Sheriff’s Office says 26-year-old Desiree Fiddler of Emmetsburg was driving a 2004 Pontiac Grand Prix shortly before 2:00 a.m. eastbound in the 1600 mile of County Road B-24 when it dropped onto the shoulder and went into the south ditch. The vehicle then struck an embankment and was launched over a driveway, coming to rest facing east.

Fiddler sustained minor injuries but apparently didn’t seek immediate treatment.

Fiddler was cited for failure to maintain control. Authorities say an additional charge of drunk driving is pending the outcome of test results.

The Clay County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by Dickens Fire and Rescue and the Spencer Hospital paramedics.

The crash took place shortly before 2:00 a.m. Saturday.
