(Spencer)– The Clay County Convention and Visitors Bureau has a new Tourism Director. It was announced today (Mon.) Jill Irlbeck of Spencer has been hired to the position. She most recently served as Event and Marketing Coordinator with the Clay County Regional Events Center. Prior to that Irlbeck served internships at the Sioux City Convention Center and Tourism Bureau as well as the Crawford County Chamber and Development Council.
Irlbeck holds a Bachelor of Arts degree with a major in communication studies and business.
The Clay County Convention and Visitors Bureau is a jointly funded project of Clay county and the city of Spencer, which falls under the umbrella of the Spencer Chamber of Commerce and is directed by an appointed tourism committee.
The Tourism Director will eventually be housed within the Clay County Heritage Center, which is currently under construction in the former Johnson Automotive building on Grand Avenue. For now the office is being housed at the Spencer Chamber of Commerce.
