(Spencer)– Multiple injuries were reported Tuesday in a two-vehicle collision near Royal.
The Clay County Sheriff’s Office says a 16-year-old juvenile female from Spencer was driving a 2017 Hyundai northbound on 160th Avenue when she failed to stop for a stop sign at the intersection with 400th Street. Deputies say the teen then collided with a 2004 Ford Excursion driven by 34-year-old Jean Steen of Sutherland. The impact caused the vehicle driven by Steen to go into the north ditch where it rolled several times.
Steen and two children in her vehicle were taken to Spencer Hospital; the 16-year-old driver of the other vehicle sought her own treatment.
$10,000 in damage was estimated to both vehicles.
The juvenile driver was cited for failure to obey a stop sign and failure to provide proof of financial responsibility.
