Clay County Collision Results In Minor Injuries

October 15, 2025

(Spencer)– Minor injuries were reported in a two-vehicle collision Tuesday in the 1200 mile of Highway 18, northwest of Everly.

The Clay County Sheriff’s Office says 20-year-old Emma Garberson of Spencer was driving a 2025 Chevrolet Traverse westbound and was signaling to make a turn when she was rear-ended by a 2007 Buick driven by a 16-year-old female juvenile.

Minor injuries were reported to Garberson but she apparently wasn’t transported to a hospital.

$7,000 in damage was estimated to the Traverse driven by Garberson; damage to the Buick the juvenile was driving was estimated at $10,000.

The juvenile was cited for failure to maintain a reasonable and proper speed.
