(Spencer)– The Clay County Sheriff’s Office says two suspects wanted in connection with an assualt that took place July 20th at the Little Sioux River access near Gillett Grove have been taken into custody.
Authorities say an investigation into the incident resulted in the arrests of 24-year-old Christopher Marble of Spencer and 30-year-old Joseph Vandereske of Royal.
Marble turned himself into the Clay county jail on a warrant charging him with assault causing bodily injury…a serious misdemeanor.
Vandereske was arrested Wednesday at his home in Royal on a charge of assault with intent to cause serious injury…an aggravated misdemeanor.
Both Marble and Vandereske were booked into the Clay county jail.
Marble was also wanted on five Clay county warrants charging him with possession of a controlled substance…2nd offense; driving while revoked, driving under suspension and no proof of insurance. He was being held on a $6,000 cash only bond for those charges.
A witness in the assault, David Sible, was arrested for an unrelated charge and was transported to the Dickinson county jail.
