Clay County Authorities Investigate Report Of Armed Robbery

November 22, 2014

(Spencer)– Authorities in Clay county are investigating a report of a robbery that took place this (Thursday) morning in a rural area.

The Sheriff’s Office says it received a report shortly after 6:00 a.m. from a victim who told them a vehicle was parked on 470th Street at the intersection of county blacktop M27. The victim, who stopped to assist, reported the hood was up on the car and a male passenger exited the vehicle and came up to the victim from behind and ordered him to the ground. The suspect then placed something hard against the victim’s back and said he had a gun. The suspect then took an undetermined amount of money from the victim.

The suspect told the victim to remain on the ground, threatening to shoot him. The suspect then fled the area.

The victim didn’t report actually seeing a gun.

The suspect got into a newer maroon Mitsubishi Eclipse. No license plate information was available.

Authorities are looking for two suspects in the case. They include a male 35 to 40 years old ranging in height between 6′-1″ and 6′-3″ with a slim build, scruffy and unshaven, wearing a white t-shirt and baggy pants.

The other, a female, is described at 35 to 40 years old, 5′-2″ to 5′-4″ tall; 250 pounds; brown shoulder length hair; wearing a red shirt and blue jeans.
